Job scams and warning
Have you had an email offering you a job? Are you worried that it's legit?
- Well if it's asking you to pay up front it's DEFINITELY not legit.
- If it's offering you a job WITHOUT an interview it's NOT legit.
- If they ask you to pay for Visas / work permits, it's a SCAM
- If they ask you for an application fee, it's NOT legit.
- If it's coming from West or North Africa it's almost certainly a scam.
Some scam job offers look very realistic indeed. They seem to be backed up with all sorts of data and management company names and agency names. If you have been offered a job on yacht without interview be very wary.
If you have doubts about the offer Google the persons' name, Google the content, Google the name of the vessel and see what you find. People are pretty good about making sure everyone is aware of scammers by posting warnings on the web.
